My third model! This time I learned how to render a turntable :]

:star: It is available as a 3D Printed Model!! :la:  :star:

I rendered it in the materials available: Metal and plastic. Though I'm still waiting on mine to come in the mail to see how it looks x) I'll be sure to take a picture. (Still waiting on this one too! [link] )

~Sculpted in Sculptris, polished in ZBrush

You are so unbelievably incredible.  I knew of you first from years ago when I played Horse Isle.  I'm taking a college art class and we are working on horse anatomy.. and it reminded me of you and I searched for your deviantart page.  I'm so glad I did, you are so inspirational!

This is so awesome... It inspired me to do a few models of my own. I am really curious about how you got the turntable effect! I want to upload my models but they look sorta fail from just one angle :P How do you do it?

Ahhhh!!! You did it!! I'm so jealous right now I can't even believe it, lol. $90 isn't too bad for a print either. Congrats on your beautiful model, everything about it looks perfect. :) I hope you get some takers! Is the turntable rendering only in ZBrush?

I was just about to do some more work on my sculpture, lol. I'm making a trotting Andalusian, and then I'm planning on a cantering Arabian. If the models are less than $100 I'll probably actually get one printed. It's such an exciting technology!

You can also use DazStudio(free) to make a simple animation of the object turning but there are some tricks to doing it and there maybe a more elegant way to do it but for a basic turntable animation it does fine.
Example:
Time Line Tab
Frames 150 [0]-[150] = Total Frames  151
Frame [0] set Y rotation to 1
Frame [1] set Y rotation to 1
Frame [75] set Y rotation to 180
Frame [149] set Y rotation to 360
Frame [150] set Y rotation to 361

This is a very short anim and if you wish to make it longer the rule is, do not count frame [0] really, It begins with frame [1], put the 180 in the middle, put the full rotation just before the end and add one on the end to make the anim look seamless.
You can render a movie or the frames out individually with |DS|

Ohmygosh, I can't wait to see your Andalusian!! $90 was a bit surprising, I've tried everything to get the scale down from 9 inches, argh it was giving me a headache. I suppose I should just watch for the dimensions as I'm making it. Anyway, thank you so much!! :excited: It is so exciting! Really bridges that digital and physical gap x))) <3

As for the turntable, I used Zbrush. Though after some looking, I found a turntable animation function in Sculptris ( At the top where it says "Options" -will bring this up: [link] . Click on "Turntable Animation") But I found no way to record it!
So you might get the same effect by using a screen recorder like this one: [link]

Wow, thank you for the links! 9" isn't a bad size, isn't that about the size of a Breyer Classic? Most of the materials are a bit pricy but that's totally understandable. Did you get one printed? I'd love to see the physical version!

I'm hoping to have my Andalusian done soon, but the program seems be getting slower the more complex the sculpture. I'll definitely upload it once it's done though!

I agree with all the other Breyer nuts. I'd love to see this horse next to all my 221 Breyers!! Go with artist resins. Those are really popular with the NAMHSA (North American Model Horse Show Association). You might want to consider contacting Resins By Randy for ideas???

Oh man, Some good insight. I didn't know there was a NAMHSA, that's awesome! I'll definitely get on that, I wonder if I can cast my base 3D printed model in Resin

There is several places that could give you information. Resins By Randy cast their own models, Rio Rondo , and there are services at: www.horsemodels.com/casting. Honestly, the trick is to surf the web for resin model horse artists and ask them how you could do it. The model horse community is nice and most artists will be happy to answer any questions you have. I personally like Deborah McDermott, Kitty Cantrell, and Kathleen Moody.

I wish you luck on your adventure! I know this: if you can get the model, there will be PLENTY of buyers!

This is exceptional! I envy how you so beautifully capture the anatomy of a horse, the beautiful expression, and absolutely gorgeous pose with lovely mane and tail. I am eagerly looking forward to more of these digital sculptures from you - they are astounding and so beautiful. As others have already said, and my first thought upon viewing, this would be an amazing Breyer horse model.
